Test barcode scanner programming

Steps to test if the barcode scanner is programmed correctly for optimal use with BookTrack

Step1:

Plug the scanner you want to test after programming into your computer and open notepad on your computer.

Step 2:

While in Notepad, scan any book’s ISBN barcode number and take note of what the cursor does. The scanned ISBN number should appear in notepad with the cursor blinking at the end of the number and then after 2 seconds the cursor should move to the next line as if the Enter key was pressed. Repeat this a couple of times, using the same ISBN barcode, to make sure the cursor pauses behind the scanned data for 2 seconds before going to the next line.

If you can observe the 2 second pause, then that scanner is programmed to function optimally with BookTrack.
